J. Crew has long been the go-to retailer for everyday menswear. They truly popularized the slim fit suit at an accessible price with their Ludlow, while still keeping the classic offerings of good denim, knits and shirting. Although they have been going through some changes internally, like the head of menswear Frank Muytjens leaving this past April, their ease and wearability continues. In a move that made shopping a little easier for everyone, Nordstrom started carrying J. Crew last year, but kept their menswear offerings pretty minimal and primarily just suiting. Well, all that changed this spring as Nordstrom begin to offer a wider selection of menswear from J. Crew. So now is easiest and perfect to snag all your spring staples.
For someone who lives in Texas, and rarely needs much outerwear, I have always had an affinity for a good jacket. Even though intense heat takes over the majority of our year, I am always on the lookout for a great layering jacket. This lightweight utility jacket truly is a piece to be worn now and often as it is the perfect weight in a cool shade of blue. I like that it is a little bit of a swerve from the classic green, but still offers that transitional feel of a great field jacket.
Also not to be missed is this striped tee. Perfect for this time of year, it does not get more classic that a perfect striped tee and with a such a great fit, this one will pair with pretty much everything else you own. I love the nod to nautical style but without feeling like I have to be near water to be wearing it. You can find this striped tee and a few others here.
