The past couple years, I have really embraced the concept of finding a uniform, which for me really relies mostly on color. If you go through my closet right now, you will find primarily black, white, grey and navy. I am pretty predictable and *always* stick to these more elemental colors, finding that it actually makes it easier to get dressed when everything goes with everything.
Needless to say, I was a little surprised when I was so drawn to this purple crewneck sweater. It is not at all a color I would typically grab, but actually fits perfectly and compliments all the navy I already own. Plus, rules are meant to be broken (even when you make them yourself).
So, (and I am speaking to myself here) take a chance every once in a while and break out of your style routines. Try a new color or fit and throw in a statement wild card piece to help update your daily uniform. Style is all about wearing things that make you feel good and give confidence, but sometime you have to step out of the box to appreciate it. Ted Baker really has become a go-to brand for me, especially around the holidays. They always have a great collection, but their AW collection is great for fall textures and holiday dressing.
