The weather has *sort of* finally cooled down enough for me to wear some of the things I picked up at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Since this Billy Reid jacket (which was one of my favorites from the sale) has just been hanging in my closet since July, I was definitely ready to pull it out at the slightest fall chill. I love the leather collar detailing and the subtle quilting that layers great over this textured henley.
These are also a new pair of selvedge denim that still have the super clean rigid look. With each wear, these jeans get a little bit softer and little bit more worn in. I actually think this “breaking in” is one of the most interesting qualities for selvedge denim because no pair ever looks the same. Each pair of jeans carry a history of the person that wore them with unique wear and tear. How interesting to look back in a year or so to see the difference from this clean raw denim to what will most certainly show signs of wear. Plus, raw denim ends up being the absolute most comfortable because it perfectly forms to your body and fits better every time you put them on.
If you never have, try out a pair of raw selvedge denim. It does take a little bit of time to go from raw to super comfortable and broken in, but that in between is all part of the story.
