In my last post I mentioned that shoes can be a great way to start dressing for the changing of the season, so I’ve rounded up a few of my favorites for your fall sneaker update. A solid clean leather or a light suede will always feel seasonally appropriate and can be worn with pretty much anything. So, now that September is coming to end, it is time to shelf your boat shoes, and refresh your footwear inventory.
With a fall sneaker update, I would encourage you to try out a new color. These wine colored Tretorns give a cool edge, but are surprisingly easy to wear. Don’t worry too much about matching them to what you’re wearing, but allow this cool color be a standout. These olive low tops are also a great way to incorporate one of season’s biggest color trends in a cool and new way.
If color isn’t quite your thing, black and white never go out of style. Common Projects really has perfected the low top in their Achilles Leather Sneakers, and are included as a pair of shoes to wear year round. At $410, they are an investment, but if you are wearing them 3X a week, they will end up paying for themselves. As a more affordable alternative, the skate brand Vans is really having a moment right now. Going with the classic Sk8-Hi body is a great choice for a laid back California feel, but some say that the Old Skool is will be the more popular. Either way, with these high or low tops, Vans are another great addition to your fall sneaker update.
