It is hard to believe that we are actually celebrating the end of summer this coming week. Granted, I will never complain about having an extended weekend, but all those lazy days of summer kind of slipped by this year. July and August were both a blur and now we are heading straight into fall.
I don’t know if it was because both of my parents worked in the school system when I was growing up, but even now the starting of a school year always feels much more like an actual new year compared to January. The same goes with getting dressed too; transitioning into fall always feels a bit more dressed up, layered up and more tailored as compared to more casual pieces worn throughout the summer. Even though the temperature here allows for shorts March through November, it is always nice to dress up a little more… even with jeans…to give summer a proper goodbye.
